How to Tie the Dropper Loop
- Form a loop in the line where you want the dropper.
- Hold the crossing point and wrap one side of the loop around the line 5-6 times.
- Push the center of the original loop through the opening in the middle of the wraps.
- Pull both ends of the line while holding the loop to tighten.
- Moisten and pull everything tight.
Pros
- Creates a perpendicular loop that stands out from the mainline
- Strong and reliable for multi-hook rigs
- Can be tied at any point in the line
Cons
- Slightly difficult to tighten evenly
- Can weaken the mainline if not tied properly
Best Used For
Creating multi-hook rigs, paternoster rigs, and sabiki rigs. Popular in bottom fishing and deep-sea applications.
