How to Tie the Spider Hitch

  1. Double the line to the desired length.
  2. Form a small reverse loop near the tag ends.
  3. Hold the small loop between thumb and forefinger.
  4. Wrap the doubled line around your thumb and through the small loop 5 times.
  5. Pull the large loop slowly while sliding the wraps off your thumb.
  6. Moisten and pull tight. Trim the tag end.

Pros

  • Much faster and easier than the Bimini Twist
  • Can be tied by one person easily
  • Good strength for light to medium tackle

Cons

  • Not as strong as the Bimini Twist under extreme loads
  • Can fail with heavy tackle and big fish
