How to Tie the Improved Clinch Knot

  1. Thread the line through the hook eye and pull about 15 cm through.
  2. Wrap the tag end around the standing line 5-7 times.
  3. Thread the tag end through the small loop near the hook eye.
  4. Then pass it through the large loop you just created.
  5. Moisten and pull tight. Trim the tag end.

Pros

Cons

  • Not recommended for braided line
  • May slip with lines over 30 lb test
